Perennials, loosely caespitose; stem filiform, 0.4–3.0 cm tall, swollen at base; rhizome short. Cataphylls dark-brown, ribbed. Cauline leaf single, sub-basal, filiform (c. 0.3 mm diam.), bitubular, ±equalling flower stem; auricles minute, membranous, obtuse. Lower bract leaf-like, c. 0.6–1.0 (–1.5) cm long, suberect, overtopping inflorescence. Inflorescence reduced to a single, apparently lateral flower. Tepals castaneous, linear-lanceolate, acute, subequal, 2.5–3.9 mm long. Stamens 6, shorter than tepals; anthers 0.7–0.9 mm long, shorter than 1.0–2.3 mm filaments; style 0.5–0.7 mm long; stigmas short, 0.7–1.5 mm long, cream. Capsule ellipsoid-trigonous, tapered into style. Seeds pale brown, ellipsoid, with very short membranous points at both ends, c. 0.7 mm long. Fig. 66.
